A&R - Warner/Chappell Music

Charlie Amter is a Los Angeles-based A&R representative on staff at Warner/Chappell specializing in electronic dance music and international pop. He works out of the Warner Music Group-owned publisher’s West Los Angeles office. He’s also a writer, a content producer and was an A&R consultant on retainer for New York’s Ultra Records in 2011, which led to his full time hire at Warner/Chappell in January of 2012. A former Los Angeles Times staff writer and past frequent Times contributor to the paper’s Calendar section, Amter has covered nightlife, music and the occasional event for Tribune’s largest daily paper. Additionally, Amter has reported on Los Angeles nightlife, hospitality and late night trends for Blackbook Magazine’s blackbookmag.com. His past work has appeared in publications ranging from Spin Magazine to England’s Guardian newspaper. Amter has previously worked as an online editor/producer at companies such NBC/Universal’s E! online to working at the National Director level doing publicity for labels such as Virgin Records. He worked on call at the Hollywood Reporter’s Wilshire Boulevard office in 2011 and also writes artist bios for labels such as Interscope on a regular basis.
